About my malas: I started making malas a few years ago. I'm not sure exactly how it happened except for my love for gemstones, the power of prayer (mantras), and one hundred eight prayer beads felt right. I started making them as gifts for spiritual leaders, medicine people and friends who I felt needed some extra prayers and protection for whatever their next endeavor might be. Then I started to make them to sell in our store. People love them, they even feel good. I put lots of prayers into those beads as I string them.
